Heating With Solar

Using the sun to heat your home through passive and active solar design can be both environmentally friendly and cost effective. In many cases you can cut your domestic hot water and heating costs by more than 75%.

Solar hot water systems use solar collectors or panels to absorb energy from the sun. Water, or a heat-transfer fluid, is heated by the sun as it passes through the collectors.  

These solar collectors make use of evacuated tube technology. Each panel consists of 14 heat pipe evacuated tubes connected to a highly insulated top manifold. The outer tube is made of extremely strong transparent borosilicate glass that is able to resist impact from hail up to 25mm in diameter. The inner tube is also made of borosilicate glass. A magnetron sputtering process coats the outer surface of the inner tube which features excellent solar heat absorption and minimal heat reflection properties. New German technology enables the panels to generate hot water in temperatures as low as -50 degrees.

Systems are available using one panel for domestic hot water or a multiple panel system that will do both your domestic hot water and space heat.  Additional panels can be added to accommodate larger homes and commercial applications.
